Commonly referred to as "the gentle art" Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a non striking discipline with roots based in early Japanese martial arts culture. Using a range of techniques and movements to control and ultimately submit opponents in the way of joint manipulation or asphyxiation (chokes).
BJJ has both a 'Gi' (Traditional kimono worn during practice) and 'No-Gi' (Grappling wear like compression clothing or sportswear) versions.
Kickboxing and Muay Thai are striking disciplines that use a combination of Punches, Kicks, Knees and Elbow strikes. Also known as "the sport of 8 limbs". Muay Thai is the main combat sport of Thailand with its origins going back thousands of years and is deeply embedded in the culture and mythology of Thailand.
Students will be taught how to use all of the techniques available from each limb of the human body to create a well rounded and affective striking game based off a martial art with over a millennia of history.
This class covers the very progressive and never ending side of grappling. Catch Wrestling Is a “No-gi" grappling art that is heavily focused on takedowns and Submission holds that can be applied both from standing and ground positions to make for a well rounded and effective grappling game as well as great self defence.
This class, as the name suggest, is done without a traditional kimono and requires only shorts and a grappling top (Rashguard) or T-shirt.
